How to Transfer Fluids from a 55-Gallon Drum Safely (No More Tipping)

Tipping a 55-gallon drum by hand is how backs get thrown out and fluid ends up on the floor. The NPGLOBAL Electric Drum Pump moves fluid out of the drum instead — up to 5 GPM, self-priming, with dual 110V AC / 12V DC power so it works in the shop or out in the field.

Key Features

  • Up to 5 GPM (18.9 LPM) — fast transfer for shop, farm, or industrial use
  • Dual voltage — swappable 110V AC / 12V DC powerheads for portability
  • Telescopic intake tube — adjustable 33.5–49", fits standard drums up to 55 gallons (205L)
  • Self-priming — quick start-up with minimal effort
  • Safety features — ON/OFF switch, LED status indicator, quiet motor, built-in fuse protection
  • Durable build — stainless steel inlet filter and ¾" OD stainless steel nozzle spout
  • Multi-fluid compatible — DEF, diesel, water-based fluids, antifreeze, detergents, and light oils up to 100 cSt viscosity

How to Use It

  1. Attach the motor head unit to the telescopic intake tube and adjust it to reach the bottom of your drum.
  2. Choose your power source — plug into 110V AC, or connect the 12V DC adapter for on-the-go use.
  3. Attach the discharge hose and nozzle spout, or the IBC tank adapter if transferring into a tote.
  4. Flip the ON/OFF switch — the pump self-primes and the LED indicator confirms it's running.
  5. When finished, switch off and remove the tube; the stainless steel inlet filter keeps debris out of the line for next time.
